Seductive elegant fruity red wine. Very bright garnet colour with fine tears. Subtle nose of small pink berries such as red gooseberry, juniper with leaves and white pepper. Slim, very pure and clean flavour with elegant tannins and a delicate texture. Long fine fruity finish. Exquisite wine with braised mushrooms, rare pink meat and tomato salad. Perfect for those who like to drink red wine with fish. Serving temperature: 15°C
What began as a festive three barrel foot stomp event attended by a handful of friends on a south peninsula beach in 1996, produced a very palatable Syrah, and saw the founding in 1997 of the first true micro-winery in the Western Cape with Pinot Noir the main focus. The aptly named Barefoot Winery trading as Catherine Marshall Wines has long outgrown its humble origins to become a legendary institution and exporting to a number of markets world- wide. Our philosophy is to produce wines that are distinctive, serious in intent but to have a lot of fun doing it.
