Tasting notes
Harmonious full-bodied red wine. Medium intense garnet colour with solid tears. Complex nose of cooked fruit, dried herbs and earthy hints. Mouth-filling texture with subdued acidity and velvety tannins. Warm finale with very long spicy finish. Requires roast of red meat, fowl or slow cooked root vegetables and mild spices. Serving temperature: 16°C

Vasco Maria Eugénio de Almeida was born in Lisbon in 1913, the son of one of the most affluent families of 19th century Portugal but soon established strong ties with Évora and the Alentejo where, thanks to the legacy of his paternal grandfather, the family owned a considerable patrimony in land and real estate.
